After an extensive housing search, the ink is dry on our lease at the University of Georgia. The Beta Delta chapter will take possession of the 21-bed, properly zoned facility on 5 acres in August 2024. This is a modern fraternity house (built in 2017) with apartment/pod-style bedrooms surrounded by large common areas complete with a basement and large back patio. It’s a very private location and backs up to a greenway with access to the university (10-ish minute walk to class).
We’re in a 2-year lease with 3 additional one-year options available. Phi Psi is open to a purchase if their re-expansion in 2 years does not succeed. I think we have a good chance at a long-term scenario here.
All the rooms are fully leased and the chapter is ecstatic with the opportunity. We think we’ll see a nice bump in Spring recruitment numbers and a huge Fall class after we officially take possession in August.
